Severe weather including flooding rains and high winds caused a number of traffic issues throughout the area Wednesday.
The CHP and Caltrans responded to a number of obstructions and reports of flooding on local roads. CHP Officer Justin Barnthouse says most of the reports involved trees on the road.
Barnthouse says there was one incident that surprised a couple of cement workers.
Flooding was reported in the South County causing some slow traffic on Highway 49 but it did not close at any point. Loose soil and rain also caused a small slide that impacted 49 for a short while.
Through there was some flooding overall the county fared pretty well.
Interstate 80 and areas of Placer and Sacramento County were not as lucky as flooding impacted rush hour traffic for quite some time.
