Nevada County Supervisor Hank Weston says he will not be seeking a fourth term on the board next year…
Weston made the announcement on ‘KNCO Insight’ with Tom Fitzsimmons this afternoon (Tuesday), and initially announced his intention to run for the first time 12 years ago on KNCO. Weston says the board, county staff, and the citizens of his district and Nevada County have done some great things over the past dozen years, including a solar project for many county facilities. He was also instrumental in keeping the three state parks in the county open, and helped lead the effort to save the Bridgeport covered bridge…
Weston represents District 4, which includes Penn Valley, Lake Wildwood, Rough and Ready, and North San Juan. He recently formed a Municpal Advisory Council for Penn Valley, and has been chair of the board three times. Weston says he’s tried to represent his district and the county as a whole as fairly as possible…
Weston is 74 and says he’s looking forward to retirement. Other candidates for his seat are expected to announce their election bids shortly.
