Families that participate in the Women, Infants, and Children Nutirition Program in Nevada County will continue to receive benefits while the coronavirus stay-at-home order is in effect. According to Nevada County WIC Director Debra Wilson, the Governor has included WIC services as essential services.
Wilson says that services can be provided remotely including takiing on new enrollments and updating eligibility.
With new challanges facing families every day, WIC is trying to make access to resources as easy as possible.
Wilson also says that WIC is automatically issuing one month of benefits that will appear on a previoulsy issued WIC Benefit Card.
WIC provides services to women, infants and children under the age of 5 that promote eating well, being active, and staying healthy.
