Nevada City’s Police Chief has just over two weeks to get out. That’s the word from the state employees retirement system. CalPERS sent a letter to the city that James Wickham must be gone by October 2. City Manager David Brennan says the letter came a couple of weeks ago…
CalPERS is no longer allowing retired state employees to work part time for more than one year, and continue to draw their full pension. Brennan says they had hoped to have the new full-time chief hired by mid to late November. Nevada City is still exploring its options for who will run the department on an interim basis.
