Wildfire Preparedness Day at Sierra College

The FireSafe Council of Nevada County is putting on the event. Executive Director Joanne Drummond says there will be live fire demonstrations about every 45 minutes, actvities for the kids including appearances by Ray Ray the Clown, and Smokey Bear. Also local tree contractors and a speaker about bark beetles. There’s also a barbecue lunch. Drummond says the event is free, and they’ve even got a little competition going…

Also, just added is free pet microchipping from ‘For the Love of Pets’ Veterinary Hospital. Wildfire Preparedness Day is from 10 to 3 tomorrow at the Public Safety Training Center. You are asked to use Parkling Lot 6 to keep traffic away from the fire station.
