They were going to try to get it in before the storm, but the U.S. Forest Service has called off a prescribed burn scheduled for today in the Tahoe National Forest. The 45-acre burn was scheduled to take place in the Humbug Ridge area, approximately two miles north of the China Wall O-H-V staging area in the American river District. Peabody says it looked like that window would be open just before the predicted weather event tomorrow, but high winds have forced the cancellation. Peabody says if the burn had taken place, smoke would be visible in Auburn, and in southern Nevada County…
