As Water Rates Go Up NID Also Launching Customer Portal

The Nevada Irrigation District is launching a new, user-friendly billing portal to streamline services and help manage future operating costs as rate increases begin this January.
As the new five-year rate increase plan goes into effect in January, the Nevada Irrigation District is urging customers to sign up for a new portal that’s described as smarter and simpler billing system. Assistant General Manager Greg Jones says it’ll be a smoother and more convenient experience…
You can also sign up for autopay and paperless billing. But Jones also points out that customers can still opt to get their bills in the mail and pay by check or pay with cash in-person. He says the portal is designed to bring everything you need into one easy-to-use place. You’ll also be able to review your water-use history, manage multiple accounts from a single log-in, and request new service or transfer service…
Jones says the long-term goal is to save operations costs
that could also mean less drastic rate increases in the future. NID will also
be hosting public workshops, to help customers get started and to answer
questions, in January and February.
