Looking at state and congressional races after Election Night…Democrat Ami Bera is the projected winner over Republican Nevada County Supervisor Robb Tucker to be the county’s new Congressional representative in the Third Congressional District. Heather Hadwick has 54-percent support to be re-elected to her second two-year term as the county Assembly representative, in District One. Democrat Xavier Becerra has already been declared the winner as California’s next governor, in a landslide over Republican Steve Hilton. And looking at some of the notable statewide ballot propositions…Proposition Four, which would repeal a ban on public campaign financing is trailing 52 to 48-percent. Proposition Five, which would require separate elections for recalled officials, has a narrow lead of 50 to 49-percent. Proposition 39 is going down to defeat, which would have required an ID presentation before voting and the one-time wealth tax for billionaires, Proposition 40, also appears to be failing, with 55-percent of voters saying “no”.
