Kellermann Heading Back To Uganda

After he finishes his interim one-year stint as Nevada County’s Public Health Officer, at the end of the month, it’s back to Uganda for Doctor Scott Kellermann. Kellermann says he’ll be on a flight on New Year’s Day. Kellermann says he’s resuming his work on infectious diseases. That includes what he describes as a “pretty audacious project”. 20 years ago, Kellermann and his wife Carol relocated to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest of Uganda to work with the Batwa pygmies. Over the next decade, he founded a Community Hospital there. And the Kellermann Foundation was initiated by Nevada County residents to support the work at the hospital…

Kellermann also founded one of the leading nursing schools. Also, a development program, with a focus on educating Batwa children.
