A Grass Valley man is now in jail charged with sexual relations with a 13 year old girl that resulted in the birth of a child. Grass Valley Police Lt. Alex Gammelgard says on September 13th of 2014 the girls family had brought the case to their attention after the child was born.

A suspect was identified as 22 year old Thomas Edward Wood. Grass Valley Investigators had obtained a search warrant and DNA samples were taken from the mother and Thomas Wood.

On June 24th a search warrant was served on Thomas Wood.

Wood, who is now 23, was taken into custody and charged with Continual Sexual Abuse of a child and Lewd and Lacivious acts with a child, both felonies. Wood’s bail was set at $200,000.
