Racism Task Force To Update NJUHSD Board

It was formed 15 months ago, partly in reaction to nationwide demonstrations sparked by the police officer killing of George Floyd. Now the Racism and Unconscious Bias Task Force is making recommendations to the Nevada Joint Union High School District Board, at the Board’s meeting Wednesday evening. Also, to create identity-based affinity groups, as a, quote, “brave space” for students to explore their identities. And update school websites, mission and values, and student conduct codes, to outwardly express anti-racist and inclusive ideals…

Other recommendations include holding trainings on implicit bias, equity, inclusion, and restorative justice for faculty and staff.
