Bera Seeking To Be Nevada County's New Congressional Rep

Following recent redistricting, Democrat Ami Bera and Republican Robb Tucker face off for California’s Third Congressional District, with wildfire prevention and rural healthcare topping the agenda.
Nevada County’s Congressional District Three was among other districts that were drastically re-mapped after voters approved Proposition 50 nearly a year ago. It now skews more Democratic, prompting incumbent Kevin Kiley to seek re-election in another district. And that’s when 13-year Congressional Democrat Ami Bera decided to shift to this district. He’s facing Republican newcomer and Nevada County Supervisor Robb Tucker on November third. He tells us Congress should get more involved in wildfire prevention, mentioning that he’s one of the lead Democrats on a bi-partisan committee trying to implement the features of the Fix Our Forest Act, which focuses on better management practices…
Bera also has a track record of pushing back against Trump
Administration policies, including the Iran conflict. He says the House has approved
resolutions calling for its end, including with the help of seven Republicans. But
it hasn’t made it through the Senate…
Bera was in town on Tuesday, including a tour of Sierra
Nevada Memorial Hospital. He says trying to improve the financial stability of
rural health care will be one of his priorities for a new term in office. KNCO
has also reached out to Tucker for an interview, to also provide him with airtime.
